The Democrats and mainstream media have bashed President Trump relentlessly ever since he suggested people in some areas might be able to go back to work as soon as Easter depending on how things look after 15 days of social distancing.
They’ve claimed the president wants to sacrifice lives in exchange for corporate profits.
Just one example.
“They want to make sure that people that own businesses in their district or in their states will keep giving them campaign contributions. So this — I don’t know what — I grew up in a Baptist Church and I heard a lot about abortion on the front end of life and euthanizing seniors on the other side of life.”
Euthanizing seniors? Really Joe, could you be any more dramatic or try and scare more people?
Sadly Joe Scarborough is a voice of reason among MSNBC hosts. The rest are even loonier and more crazed than he is.
Unfortunately for Scarborough and the rest, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo basically said the same thing as the president today during his daily coronavirus press conference.
Should people get back to work as soon as safely possible?

“It’s something the nation is working on, something that we’re working through. And I think the smartest way forward is a modified public health strategy that dovetails and complements a get-back-to-work strategy.”
What we did was we closed everything down. That was our public health strategy. Just close everything. All businesses, all workers, young people, old people, short people, tall people, every school, close everything.”
“If you rethought that or had time to analyze that public health strategy, I don’t know that you would say quarantine everyone. I don’t even know that was the best public health policy.”
“Young people then quarantined with older people was probably not the best public health strategy. Because the younger people could have been exposing the older people to an infection.”
So while Cuomo didn’t say by Easter he made clear the idea was to get back to work as soon as possible based on geography, clusters of COVID-19 cases and a public health strategy of minimizing personal interactions and a range of other things.
Basically the same thing the President said.
President Trump said by Easter but that was a target not a deadline.
You can’t successfully execute a plan without a goal and a target start date, and there’s nothing wrong with an aggressive but flexible plan.
Apparently most media types and politicians seem to not know this.
Which is why I’m glad President Trump is helping our country manage this crisis and not a professional politician.
